Information on Board Members

Buchanan, Donal B.

President, Mid-Atlantic Epigraphic Society; research articles have dealt with Runic, Iberic, Italo-Celtic and Ogham epigraphy.

Fell, Julian.

A zoologist with a specialty in systematics, evolution and ecology,. he has a lifelong involvement with museums in both technical and administrative roles. He has also worked as a technologist in other fields, including mining. Although not an epigrapher himself, as the son of Barry and Rene Fell he has enjoyed a front row seat in the drama of epigraphic studies during the past three decades.

Gillespie, Alan

Professor, Director, Remote Sensing Lab, Geological Sciences, Univ. of Washington, Seattle; author, Remote Sensing in Geology; research includes dating of rock surfaces and archæoastronomy.

Jett, Stephen C.

Retired Professor, Department of Geography, University of California at Davis; notable for his distribution studies of complex cultural traits and for reviews of transoceanic diffusion.

Kehoe, Alice

Professor of Anthropology, Marquette University; scholar of native American ethnology and historical issues influencing archæology.

Totten, Norman

Retired Professor of History, Bentley College; first Vice President of the Epigraphic Society; scholar of history and archæology of pre-Columbian America and trans-cultural associations.

Dana Chandler

Masters, History, Auburn University; trained, experienced Archivist and Records Management Expert; trained, experienced computer programmer and website designer; active in historical and archaeological research and investigation in the Americas.
